Water Management Challenges study findings were presented at the 10th ICWFM Conference 2025

Dhaka, Bangladesh – The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Institute of Development Studies and Sustainability (IDSS) at United International University (UIU) shared their findings at the International Conference on Water and Flood Management (ICWFM) 2025. This conference, which focused on conserving water and ecosystems for climate resilience, happened from February 22-24 at the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) in Dhaka.

IRRI explores collaboration with Indonesia’s Directorate of Fertilizer and Center of Agricultural Extension

(JAKARTA, Indonesia, 12 February 2025) - IRRI is continuing to expand the dissemination of the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Indonesia platform, locally known as Layanan Konsultasi Padi (LKP), to further optimize fertilizer use in rice production. The RCM project team from IRRI HQ and IRRI Indonesia met with key directors from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture involved in fertilizer policy and extension services: the Director of Fertilizer and Pesticide, and the Director of the Center of Agricultural Extension.

A mini rice processing facility in Bhubaneshwar will provide hands-on training in producing nutritious, high-value rice products, including low glycemic index and high-protein rice, to enable women entrepreneurs and strengthen Odisha’s rice value chain.

Bhubaneswar, ODISHA (10 February 2025) - The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment (DAFE), and the Department of Mission Shakti (DMS), Government of Odisha, will set up a dedicated mini-factory to produce nutritious and premium quality products and empower the women-led Self-Help Groups (WSHGs) of the state through rice value addition.
